AUTHOR'S NOTES: - Not a single bit of this story is happy. None of it. NOT A BIT. You have been warned. - Speaking of that, trigger warnings: this contains abuse, violence, suicide, mentions of overdosing, car accidents, fire, and mentions of blood. If any of that makes you feel uncomfortable, this might not be the best thing for you. - Please note that I have included Author’s Notes, which will look like [Author’s Note: This.] Some of these are my own (sometimes sarcastic) commentary, but some of them really are relevant to the story, so try not to skip over them. Of course, I mean no offense by any of my notes, they’re simply some of my thoughts as I wrote out the plotline. - Also, fictional warning! Don’t worry, this is all fiction. The character’s names are the same as the band members, but this stuff hasn’t actually happened to them. - The years are based off of Seokjin’s (Jin’s) character’s age. Year 19 means he was 19, Year 20 means he was 20, and so on. The boys are all younger than him. - This is based off of xCeleste’s video on the entire storyline. Check it out, it’s an amazing video that goes pretty in-depth for an overview! - This should go without saying, but this is, of course, just my take on the plotline. There are many different interpretations, so if yours differs or if you don't agree with my version, that's fine! As long as the plotline makes sense to you, it's correct. <3 - This is complicated, so get ready for a wild, wild ride. Not to mention it’s not over yet, so there’s still a lot of unanswered questions. That being said, here we go.
NOTE: This is a long one. Hold on. + Around June 15, Year 22 Yoongi starts making music again with an unnamed girl. (Guitar Girl) Jimin calls Yoongi about Jungkook’s accident and Yoongi rushes to the hospital but, like Taehyung, couldn’t make himself go in. [Author’s Note: But poor Jungkook though…] Yoongi blames himself for what happened to Jungkook. For some undetermined reason, he fights with his girl and ends up alone again. + Around June 13-15, Year 22 Jungkook meets a girl at the hospital. (Hospital Girl) One day, the two of them were sitting outside when Jungkook heard a song that he and Yoongi used to play on the piano all the time. He looked up and it was Guitar Girl. After that, things get blurry--somehow, Hospital Girl vanished. There’s a scene where he goes to bring her flowers and instead stands at an empty bed. We don’t know where she went. [Author’s Note: Don’t quote me on this, but I believe The Notes say she was discharged from the hospital.] His whole storyline is messed up after the crash, almost as if something is...missing. + Before July 10, Year 22 Taehyung catches a girl stealing from a convenience store. (Thief Girl) He pays for her stuff and they kept seeing each other places until eventually they became good friends. One day, they were spraying graffiti when the cops chased them. Taehyung gave himself up to save her and when he was released, the girl was nowhere to be found and he never saw her again. + Around July 3, Year 22 Ever since Jimin was “released” from the hospital, he’s been living with Hoseok, and the two have started dance classes. (Jimin as a student, Hoseok as a teacher.) Hoseok met a girl at the classes (Dance Girl) that he’s been hanging out with. One night, Jimin and Dance Girl were practicing when they collided. Instead of checking on her, he panicked and ran to the bathroom to rinse the blood off of his arm. [Author’s Note: He scraped his arm on a nail on the floor. He didn’t kill her.] Hoseok brought the girl to the hospital but he hurt his ankle on the way. They were both okay, but Hoseok found a plane ticket to the U.S. in Dance Girl’s bag and realized she’d been accepted for the overseas dance team. Neither of them brought it up, however, and they left without a word. + Around July 13, Year 22 Namjoon had been seeing the same girl on the same bus at the same library for over a month now (Bus Girl) and though he’s never said so much as “hi” to her, he bought her a hair tie. He was going to give it to her, but he chickened out and left it on her bag while she was asleep on the bus. (See theories for more.) + Around July, Year 22 Now, sometime in July, Seokjin saw a girl run across a set of train tracks and drop her diary. (Dreams Girl) He picked it up and flipped through it [Author’s Note: That’s a good way to get attacked...] and found what basically amounts to her bucket list. He meets her again and they end up doing almost all of the things on her list. His story continues in a moment. They all learned something from the girls: Taehyung wants to protect his family. Yoongi wants to stop running away. Hoseok wants to learn to accept things. Jimin wants to prove he’s good at something. Namjoon wants to stop giving up and to see something through to the end. Jungkook is the only one that didn’t learn a lesson that is apparent. He seems off through the whole arc, actually, but whether it’s side effects of the accident or time travel catching up with him, no one knows. [Author’s Note: Unanswered question.]
When the flowers were delivered, Seokjin realized there was no card in the bouquet. Immediately, he called the owner, who responded, “Ah! I’ll make a U-turn now, the light just changed.” No sooner were the words out of the owner’s mouth then Seokjin spotted the girl across the street. He waved, she crossed...and got hit by the flower truck. Note: This is basically where we are currently. See the theories for a short, confusing, possible continuation. STUFF THAT DOESN’T FIT INTO THE TIMELINE, BUT IS STILL IMPORTANT:
“Memories. What Taehyung called memories were stories that did not mean anything to me. That I had done such things--that there had been such things that happened to me, that we had done such things together--such stories. It could be that those things were true. It felt like they were. But remembering is not the same as understanding or accepting. Experiences are not things you can simply hear and figure out. They are things that have to be rooted in your head, heart, and spirit.” - Seokjin (See theories)
UPDATE: Whoops, I messed up--we have a video for Intro: Persona, and Boy With Luv. No one is quite sure how they fit into the plotline yet, but that’s what we have. UPDATE 2: MOTS:P era is over and we are on a collision course with MOTS:7 and it seems like this era does not really fit in with the plotline very well. I believe MOTS:7 will be more about the boys as band members rather than the boys as their characters. Just a thought, though, we’ll have to wait and see. Continued in Part 8!
