Fever Road. Hidden in amongst the laughter and silly challenges there were some serious plot reveals. Here, I'm going to break down each of the boys' prologues and epilogues, as well as try and tackle that weird ending phrase. Here goes nothing! (Videos and captions from ATEEZ's official YouTube channel, extra videos from Querenciateez on YouTube!!) (The analysis of the segments is at the bottom of the post, before the final ending--I would've done it at the end of each section, but some things only make sense with the other information.)

"They say people are born different--but why does it feel like we're all the same? Us, brainwashed into the same system. They expect perfection, so how can we be different?" "A sign, an omen, a..." "Glitch." A descent into a world of confusion, with two moons to boot. Send help, because I do believe that this is the universe that has finally broken my mind. Without further ado, here goes nothing!! small note for stays + anyone that knows what I'm talking about: whenever possible, I will be referencing things in terms of 8. I apologize in advance if this offends anyone. Okay, so I have kept my other post updated as time has passed with information about the car crash arc, but I (finally!!!!) recieved my copy of The Notes 2 and, um, it's going to be easier to talk about this in a new post. Let's not waste any more time then, and get into it! Because this post is liable to be quite long and rather text-heavy. Recap and basis The last line of my previous post was "whether or not it was intentional, the fact remains that Seokjin might have done it. And this could have drastic implications on the BU timeline." And this could not be more true than it is right now.
The Notes 2 starts on a new time loop of April 11th, Year 22. The first Note we get from Jungkook about the accident is from June 13th, Year 22, which is the day the boys find out and go to visit him. He repeats his line from a few loops ago, where he says: "I couldn't tell what was real, what was [a] dream, what was [a] memory, and what was [an] illusion. Everything seemed faint." He also reiterates the part about the Odd-Eyed Cat. (Check my OEC post and the part 1 of this series for more information!) Later on in the Note, the police officer comes to talk to Jungkook and sheds a little bit of light on the matter. Jungkook says, "He showed me the surveillance camera of the accident. [...] The car disappeared from the screen, and I couldn't tell whether it stopped or not with its red taillights barely visible. And a couple of seconds later, the light disappeared as well. The officer said the car rammed the guardrail after hitting me. And he asked if I remembered anything. [...] I looked at him. I realized it was Seokjin's car. The officer said, "even if it's a small thing..." I shook my head and said, "No, I just have a headache."" We don't get another Note from Jungkook until June 20th, Year 22. The officer has returned to the hospital to give us some more info! "A witness had stepped forward. [...] He had no choice but to tell me that the witness had come forward but had not provided much information except that the car was imported, and the driver was a young man in his early or mid-twenties. The detective asked me again if I remembered anything. I said nothing. It was a lie." Later on in the Note, Hoseok comes to visit Jungkook. Jungkook thinks that Hoseok knows what happened with Seokjin and he feels uneasy around him. The next related Note is from Seokjin's point of view, on July 11th, Year 22. The police officer calls Seokjin and asks for the black box video from his car from May 22nd, the day of the accident. Seokjin reflects, "May 22nd was the day I had an accident on the way back from the beach. The officer said it was a hit-and-run, so it could've been Jungkook's case. I couldn't believe it, but I agreed. I had nothing to hide." After the accident, Seokjin checked his car at a nearby car center. The center owner asked him what happened and eventually reported it to the police. Seokjin basically threatens him and the chapter ends there. We never find out if the police checked his black box. We never find out if he's guilty or not. So a couple of days ago, Big Hit dropped the trailer for the BTS Universe Story mobile game, which is being released on September 24th (go pre-register and watch the trailer!!!). I was able to figure out a couple connections that I'm not sure if others have caught, which is why I wanted to go through the video scene-by-scene and break down some of the elements. Without further ado, let's go! Small notes! All BU TW/CWs should be here--fire, blood, death, car accidents, fictional, etc. etc. Be careful! Also, I will be following the BANGTANTV upload, NOT the BTS Universe Story upload, since the BANGTANTV version had dates. (PRAISE BIG HIT) Translations are from @origamicrowns on Twitter, and additional info is from bucontentgui.de! Full credit to all sources! Any unlabeled pictures are from the trailer ^^ The first scene takes place on September 30th, Year 22. Already, this is different. We have never gotten a Note past August 30th before. Taehyung dreamed about the container fire on April 11th, Year 22. Not to mention the first time we hear about the container burning from Namjoon's point of view, it's happening on August 25th, Year 22...what's going on here?
One possibility, which is strengthened later on in the clip, is that we are actually seeing it from Seokjin's point of view as he returns to the location after realizing what happened, many days later. Another possibility is that he is having a dream of what is going to happen, and his events later on push it closer, rather than further away from him. I'll elaborate more on this later on. Halfway through this scene we see a cut of Seokjin in his father's study, looking at a piece of paper on a clipboard. He seems concerned by what is written on it. The camera focuses on the painting in the background as well, which is The Raft of Medusa by Théodore Géricault. "At that time, I thought it was salvation." (cr: 'Eternally' Official MV) Yeonjun says that after looking straight at the Odd-Eyed Cat in the music video for 'Eternally.' To me, it sounds as though he is talking about conversing with the OEC itself, or perhaps referring to a deal that he made with it.
Let's dive deeper. NOTE/TW/CW: This post will dive into subjects and most likely touch on religious factors. I do not intend to put shame or harsh words on any religion. It also may include references to self-harm/suicide and/or death/blood. If you are uncomfortable with reading such things, then don't read this post! I have plenty of others if you'd like to check them out instead! :) Also, one final reminder that all of this is FICTIONAL. <3 With Zero : Fever Part 1 coming out soon, I wanted to catch up on the ATEEZ Universe (AU?? Hmm...ATU? I'll think about it.) before my first comeback as an ATINY and I realized...there's a lot of unrelated information and imagery in their videos. So, I'm going to do my best to put this in a coherent format, but please forgive me if parts of it don't make much sense. T.T I tried. Also it's not necessarily in order of release as it's in the most coherent order for the plot!
The ATEEZiverse (oof, no, next time I'll get it--) begins in 'Intro : Long Journey,' the trailer for their debut album. In this MV, the narrator (who I believe is Maddox, a solo artist under the same company [KQ]) and the visuals from the boys set up the plot pretty simply. They describe "treasure" and how it can mean one thing to one person, but something totally different to another. ("It can complete us...or it can destroy us...and it can be different to every individual.") Right away, likely the first thing you'll notice is the giant ATEEZ flags they're holding. These seem to be important, as they continuously crop up as the videos progress, but I can't find a solution to them. At the end of the trailer, they ask, "what is your treasure, and will you join us [to find it]?" Of course, ATINY's answer is "duh, yes!" And there begins 'TREASURE.' idea for this comes from Laina Sunflower's video EVERYTHING in the TXT UNIVERSE EXPLAINED || PART 1 (CHARACTERS) ! i haven't actually watched it yet though so if anything is similar it really is pure coincidence! ^^' HUENINGKAI General:
Morse Code - Secret Flower - Orange Poppy Animal - Gecko Shape - Heart Affected Area - Heart (wings) ANALYSIS: "Secret." The other four boys are obviously keeping secrets from him. Kai wants to figure them out. "Orange Poppy." I can't find anything specific about orange poppies, so see Beomgyu's profile for a general poppy explanation. "Gecko." Geckos symbolize rebirth, life cycles, and the circling of energy. "Heart." Hearts usually represent compassion, love, understanding, and other complicated emotions/meanings. "Heart/Wings." Wings can represent many things, including freedom, flight, and angels/demons, depending on the context. Interesting, since we have seen Hyuka as both--an angel in 'NOAS' MV and a demon in 'Eternally' MV. Magic Island Teasers: "What has just happened?" #secret #myheartfeelsstrange #oddeyecat ANALYSIS: "Secret" is Hyuka's Morse code. "My heart feels strange." Didn't he say this somewhere else too? "Odd-Eye Cat." I'm...confused as to why Kai is the one with this hashtag. Usually, Yeonjun and Soobin are the ones related to the OEC, not Hyuka. Really interesting. idea for this comes from Laina Sunflower's video EVERYTHING in the TXT UNIVERSE EXPLAINED || PART 1 (CHARACTERS) ! i haven't actually watched it yet though so if anything is similar it really is pure coincidence ^^' BEOMGYU General:
Morse Code - Hope Flower - Red Poppy Animal - Moth / Butterfly Shape - Diamond Affected Area - Shoulders (spines/tentacles) ANALYSIS: "Hope." Beomgyu shows a lot of hope during CROWN era. Unfortunately, as the photocards show us, by CYSM era, all of that hope has vanished. "Red Poppy." These flowers are often associated with peace, sleep, and...death. They're also associated with rememberance. I'm...not sure what to do with this but it lowkey freaks me out a little, considering that scene from 'Can't You See Me?' MV. "Moth / Butterfly." It's hard for me to tell if the insect in his intro film is a white moth or a pale butterfly. Moths symbolize vulnerability, death, and transformation. Butterflies symbolize endurance, hope, and life--which fits right into his Morse code! "Diamond." Diamonds stand for life, sun, and purity...all still facets of the word hope. It would be interesting to see if his Morse code has changed after whatever happened on Magic Island. "Shoulder/Spines." The way I've always interpreted this is he has a lot on his shoulders. *rim shot* Okay, but seriously. Also, in addition, I just Googled "shoulder symbolism" and the first result told me that "Shoulders represent what comes from the past and is to be projected in the future...Shoulder-related problems denote undervaluation because the person has little flexibility with in his mental pattern." Magic Island Teasers: "What should happen? Let's just do it." #hope #rewind #noonecanbetrusted ANALYSIS: "Hope" is Beomgyu's Morse code. "Rewind." This is from the lyrics of 'Run Away.' "When this night is about to be over, let's turn back time, rewind." "No one can be trusted." Hmm. But on his photocard from their second album, he said "Nothing will lighten my shoulders more than the fact that we're together." On the photocard from Star, he said "We shouldn't give up hope, because we definitely have a chance to make a change." But then in Eternity, he suddenly changes his tone: "When the moment of crucial decision comes, everyone is on their own." So what has suddenly and firmly changed his mind?! idea for this comes from Laina Sunflower's video EVERYTHING in the TXT UNIVERSE EXPLAINED || PART 1 (CHARACTERS) ! i haven't actually watched it yet though so if anything is similar it really is pure coincidence ^^' Soobin General:
Morse Code - Tomorrow Flower - White Orchids Animal - Praying Mantis Shape - Flower Affected Area - Ears (ringing/listening) ANALYSIS: "Tomorrow." Perhaps this is meant to show how Soobin often looks ahead rather than facing the present? "White Orchids." White orchids symbolize innocence, purity, elegance, and reverence. "Praying Mantis." In most cultures, a praying mantis symbolizes stillness and calmness. "Flower." Flowers can symbolize delicacy. Overall, though, it's hard to put a symbol to a flower since most of the time it depends on the certain flower. (See White Orchids above.) "Ears." In 'Nap of a star' he is shown to be listening with an ear trumpet. In 'Magic Island,' his ears ring before something bad occurs. Time and time again, Soobin is shown to be connected to his ear and to hearing. Magic Island Teasers: "Is this moment real or is it just a dream?" #tomorrow #songofastar #itslikeimdifferentfromeverybodyelse ANALYSIS: "Is this moment real or is it just a dream?" Which moment is he talking about? Also, his teaser is the only one that doesn't use scenes from the music video. Perhaps he saw the ghost girl at the pond prior to whatever happened on Magic Island? But was it real? "Tomorrow" is Soobin's Morse code. "Song of a star" is interesting; I wonder if he's the most closely connected with the star? "It's like I'm different from everybody else." Well, that's obvious. He's hearing and seeing things, he seems to be invisible...there are many ways Soobin is portrayed as different from the others. But it's nice to know he notices it. (I guess...) I was going over the Smeraldo blog posts and the 'Black Swan' music video the other day and I noticed some similarities between the BU and the +U involving time and people traveling through it. One of the things I wanted to point out was that each universe has one person that represents each period of time--past, present, and future. Seokjin is the past.
Seokjin is constantly going backwards. He wants to fix everything by going back to the root of the issue. He's even the one that agrees to do all this in the first place--when the OEC asks him if he could go back if he would fix everything, he says "yes." I get the sense that something happened that Seokjin has forgotten, likely relating to Jungkook's accident, which is probably why everything keeps going wrong in the plotline. FINAL THEORIES AND NOTES :

Thank you, Big Hit ;-; SECTION SEVEN - Beginning of the End last one you guys we're almost there c'mon- I'm going to kill that stupid fire alarm. The amount of times I've listened to it while writing this analysis is an amount a human being should never have to go through. If I ever hear a fire alarm in my life again, it will be too soon. With that out of the way, we come out in the practice room. Again. With the fire alarm. The boys are just glancing around the room, startled. Nobody seems to be...doing anything though. They're all just staring. (Well, Beomgyu is filming.) The water bottle falls off of the table and the lights go dark. (We also hear that big crash again, meaning it must be connected somehow to the lights going out.) Not even one second later, the lights come back on. Beomgyu is still filming. Taehyun is looking at the window in the back, which is lit up red. Yeonjun and Kai just look confused. And Soobin...is nowhere to be found. (Fig. 7.1) Fig. 7.1 - Where did Soobin go? TW: I'm sure if you're reading this, you've probably seen the MV. Please note that there may be images that are disturbing to some people, including things with blood and implied death.

Thank you, Big Hit ;-; SECTION FIVE - Moratorium of Rest - Taehyun We start out, slightly differently from the others, with Taehyun sitting and playing with his phone. The audio that's playing is a very slowed-down version of Sweat. He's messing with the headphones, as if he's trying to hear something, maybe? Doesn't matter, as there's this crashing/banging noise and he rips the headphones off, standing up as the lights begin to flash and the fire alarm blares. Interestingly enough, this same crashing noise plays again a few minutes later, while he's looking around the room. Unlike the other three boys (not counting Soobin), he doesn't seem scared of what's happening, he simply seems as if he's trying to analyze where the noises are coming from. This horrible glitching noise plays. The exact same noise that Soobin heard before he found the warp tunnel-thingy in the hallway. I really, really wish I knew what this connection meant or could be implying, but I genuinely have no idea. Why can Taehyun hear that noise? What does it mean? The video cuts to a similar room as Beomgyu and Yeonjun's dreams, except that Taehyun has flowers everywhere. They're mainly purple and white, and look quite similar to Magic Island, leading me to believe that that's where he is. The most interesting thing to me about this cut, however, is that there is no audio. Nothing. Not even white noise. Just...dead silence. None of the others did this. Soobin obviously had the sound of the warp-tunnel-thingy. Yeonjun's dream faded out the fire alarm before putting in some white noise and a small "boop" noise when the light kicked on. Beomgyu's dream had this sort of ethereal-sounding chimes/choir playing in the background. Kai's (which we'll get to shortly) had wind blowing in the background. But Taehyun? Nothing. It's silent except for the sounds of him shifting on the grass. A few minutes later, a gentle wind starts to blow, but even then, it's very quiet. While Taehyun might not have been freaked out by whatever happened in the practice room, this dream-scape-thing is quite obviously putting him on edge--he keeps turning around, looking for something. (Fig. 5.1) Fig. 5.1 - What is he looking for? I would guess just anything. Something, so that he didn't feel so alone. TW: I'm sure if you're reading this, you've probably seen the MV. Please note that there may be images that are disturbing to some people, including things with blood and implied death.
All translations either done by me through Google Translate or are from @txtonnews on Twitter! <3 EDIT: BIG HIT ADDED SUBS TO ETERNALLY!!!!!!!!11!1 The subs are now Big Hit's translations. Thank you, Big Hit ;-; SECTION FOUR - Room Number 17 - Beomgyu We're thrown straight back into the action, with the practice room again. Beomgyu is looking around, filming everything with his phone. He only puts it down when he ends up in a dark room, with nothing around him. (Similar to Yeonjun, actually.) Suddenly, a line of mirrors crashes towards him. When it reaches him, rather than stopping, it goes directly through him, to create a straight line as far as the eye can see. Beomgyu now seems to be in the mirror, as if it's his reflection or something. (Fig. 4.1) He reaches out as if to touch it, but stops himself. (Or maybe something stops him? It's hard to tell.) He doesn't seem scared, just startled. Just as abruptly as they appeared, the mirrors vanish, replacing themselves with one single wooden door directly behind him. There is a single number on the door--17--and a golden knob. That's it. Fig. 4.1 - That doesn't usually bode well... TW: I'm sure if you're reading this, you've probably seen the MV. Please note that there may be images that are disturbing to some people, including things with blood and implied death.

Thank you, Big Hit ;-; SECTION TWO - Song of a Star - Soobin We start out right where we left off--Soobin is traveling down a warp tunnel/train thing. As he walks down the tunnel a little bit, the lights around him start to blur and distort until he is transported into what appears to be a memory. He starts to walk forward, although you can't make any of it out. One of the things that floats past him looks a little bit like one of the kids' masks from NOAS MV. (Fig. 2.1) Another looks like a scary face. (Fig. 2.2) Fig. 2.1 - Could this be the blue mask from NOAS? TW: I'm sure if you're reading this, you've probably seen the MV. Please note that there may be images that are disturbing to some people, including things with blood and implied death.
All translations either done by me through Google Translate or are from @txtonnews on Twitter! <3 EDIT: BIG HIT ADDED SUBS TO ETERNALLY!!!!!!!!11!1 The subs are now Big Hit's translations. Thank you, Big Hit ;-; SECTION ONE - The Night of the Last Day "On the night of the last day, the world lay in shattered ruins. Darkness descended on the boys and the night. Memories of a destined future draped slowly over them. The boys asked as they wandered [through] the [maze of nightmares], 'are there no other choices for us?' The boys were thrown into confusion." As are we all, boys. As are we all. With these words, the nineteen minute thirty-one second-long movi--sorry, music video--begins. SECTION ONE -
At the very beginning over the trailer, all of the boys are sitting together around a small table, talking and playing with some things sitting on it. It looks like there's a bunch of white food on the table--for example, some macarons, drinks, and an unidentifiable substance that I believe must be pure sugar. There's also a half-black, half-white telescope on the table. (Fig. 1.1) The pattern on the table is quite interesting as well. I've seen a lot of people mentioning how it looks like planetary rotations or a star map. It also looks like a music record to me. Please don't ask me where I'm going with this, because I have no idea. Fig. 1.1 - Sugar highs incoming. NOTICE: This was written on November 17, the day Magic Island's music video was released. Stuff is subject to change. <3
I have now watched Magic Island for the third time in a row. Once to watch it, once for theories, and once slowed down for theories. (Yes, I even braved watching it for a half hour on 0.25x for y’all. Yes, you’re welcome. Yes, it sounded very odd.) Now, it's time for theories. FIRST IMPRESSIONS I'd like to start with an overarching theory -- they know each other. You may be saying, "no, duh," but seriously. I think they all knew each other when they were much, much younger (kindergarten-ish, schoolwise). I think they used to play together, games with imagination and creativity, maybe even in a secret hideout-style place. Hence, Magic Island. I think something happened when they were younger, perhaps relating to the strange powers they have now. Something happened and they couldn't see each other anymore/weren't allowed to play together anymore. (Again, perhaps relating to the strange powers? Or maybe their make-believe play wasn't as make-believe as they thought?) But I don't think they remember WHY they had to leave, even after they meet again in what looks to be high school. I think Soobin and Yeonjun are the two that are remembering the most -- Soobin is dreaming and hearing things, and Yeonjun is seeing and hearing things. Now, with that out of the way, video analysis. This is liable to be all over the place because I'm not very good at organizing my thoughts, so you have been warned. So the beginning narration. (Fig. 1.1) It sounds like they've met before, but were separated. Also, notice the star--it's still whirring, whereas it isn't in NoaS (and then comes back on at the end). Fig. 1.1 - The narration...of the star? Of the cat? I have no idea. *check bottom of post for translation credits* The truck. We've seen it as far back as HYYH era -- Seokjin driving all the boys to the beach while they hang out in the bed of the truck. We've seen it through Love Yourself era -- Seokjin and the girl. We've even seen a similar truck in unrelated videos, like the decomposing truck from MIC Drop. This truck's been through a lot. But did you know it's been through...an accident? I'm sure you all remember this clip from Euphoria MV? On the night of May 22nd, Year 22, Taehyung and Seokjin got into a fistfight at the beach. All the boys went home that night separately (Hoseok mentions in a separate Note that Seokjin left first), and on his way back Jungkook was hit by a car and taken to the hospital.
I have long thought that the one that hit Jungkook was Seokjin, also returning from the beach. "But," you cry in outrage, "how could he!? He didn't even know Jungkook was hit!" In the immortal words of Hobi, "calm down, calm down, my daughter." I'm going to get to that. But first, context. Evidence from music videos: 1) Euphoria MV I just went over The Notes from MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 (versions 1, 2, 3, and 4) and we get so many backstory tidbits in this album it's astonishing. I feel like Seokjin's father plays a much larger part of this story than we may realize, so I'm compiling a list here of all the times he has popped up. I'll do my best to keep it in chronological order, but keep in mind, that whole time-travel thing makes it quite difficult.
At last, I have returned with Part 2 of my 'FAKE LOVE' music video explanation! This one will cover mostly the music video, but I may reference the trailer, so it’s probably best if you go check out that theory first. Come on back when you’re done!
Just so everyone is with me, I will be using the EXTENDED version of the official music video for this theory. It has the most amount of stuff in it, therefore, it is probably the most complete storyline-wise. Also, I have to give credit to @serendipitae and @sleepyheadmk786 on Twitter for prompting me to think about 'FAKE LOVE' in this way! I have to admit, I very much just took 'FAKE LOVE' at face value the first few times I watched it, and of course, I didn’t understand any of it. You guys really helped me understand what it meant! (Or at least what I think it means. :3) Thanks again. The main point to keep in mind here is that this video takes place in that weird miniature gap between HYYH and Love Yourself. 'Euphoria' MV does come before this video, so this is during that weird time where everyone is kinda split up and doing stuff on their own, but before and during the time when they hear about Jungkook’s car accident. I know. It sounds weird, it is weird, and there’s not a lot of time in that span. Just go into this theory with that mindset, and I promise I’ll do my best to make it all make sense. In less than fifteen words, Big Hit sums up the contents of their trailer right at the beginning of the video for once, making it super easy for us to leap directly in. This trailer is all about the transition from HYYH to LY. 'FAKE LOVE', therefore, takes place after 'Euphoria' in the timeline, being the bridge between the two eras. We can see this by the items they trade and receive.
Recently, I saw a tweet on Pinterest from a fellow ARMY (@all_hail_bts) pointing out the wheelchair in the music video for Run. This got my brain gears spinning, as I very quickly came to the same conclusion I’m sure many of you have come to at this point -- the wheelchair in Run most likely connects to the wheelchair Jungkook is confined to after the car accident in the Love Yourself Highlight Reel. Eventually, I ended up with a whole full-blown theory on this wheelchair, but to explain it, I first have to explain a theory of my own that is the catalyst of my wheelchair theory, and that is that:
AUTHOR'S NOTES:
- Not a single bit of this story is happy. None of it. NOT A BIT. You have been warned. - Speaking of that, trigger warnings: this contains abuse, violence, suicide, mentions of overdosing, car accidents, fire, and mentions of blood. If any of that makes you feel uncomfortable, this might not be the best thing for you. - Please note that I have included Author’s Notes, which will look like [Author’s Note: This.] Some of these are my own (sometimes sarcastic) commentary, but some of them really are relevant to the story, so try not to skip over them. Of course, I mean no offense by any of my notes, they’re simply some of my thoughts as I wrote out the plotline. - Also, fictional warning! Don’t worry, this is all fiction. The character’s names are the same as the band members, but this stuff hasn’t actually happened to them. - The years are based off of Seokjin’s (Jin’s) character’s age. Year 19 means he was 19, Year 20 means he was 20, and so on. The boys are all younger than him. - This is based off of xCeleste’s video on the entire storyline. Check it out, it’s an amazing video that goes pretty in-depth for an overview! - This should go without saying, but this is, of course, just my take on the plotline. There are many different interpretations, so if yours differs or if you don't agree with my version, that's fine! As long as the plotline makes sense to you, it's correct. <3 - This is complicated, so get ready for a wild, wild ride. Not to mention it’s not over yet, so there’s still a lot of unanswered questions. That being said, here we go. AUTHOR'S NOTES:
